November 1, 2011 – Orlando, FL – It’s a classic way for businesses and job seekers to meet: the job fair. But with the highest unemployment numbers in decades, classic job fairs in the last few years have become stale and futile exercises where “employers” are such in name only. That all changes next month, when OrlandoJobs.com intercepts the job fair concept by bringing together more than 60 employers with real, solid, current job opportunities for the second annual Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Classic Career Expo & Diversity Job Fair.
Planned around the weekend of the Florida Classic football match-up between Bethune-Cookman University and Florida A&M University, organizers of the November 18th event are also donating sixty percent of the proceeds from booth revenue to a scholarship fund that is split between the two schools.
“This will be the largest diversity career fair Central Florida has seen in recent years, and all employers will have real jobs,” states Roger Lear, President and CEO of OrlandoJobs.com.
“If you know anyone who is looking for a job or who is underemployed, this will be the place to finally see some real action,” promises Lear. “Companies that will be recruiting include some of Central Florida’s largest, such as Home Depot, The Golf Channel, OUC, Aon Hewitt, Suntrust Bank and Hilton Properties.”
This jobs fair and career expo, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Walt Disney World, Kangaroo, 102 JAMZ, Verizon, Camping World and Chase Bank, will feature educational sessions from Central Florida’s top speakers on subjects like job search strategies, career advice and resume information sessions. Free to the public, jobseekers are urged to sign up today.
NOTE: Job seekers can sign up early for the event at Orlandojobs.com/jobfair
*** We will also be publishing a list of all jobs on November 15*****
