We are now @orlandojobs on Twitter after a Year Long Journey to Secure that Handle from Twitter Space!

We are now @orlandojobs on Twitter after a Year Long Journey to secure that handle from Twitter space! (www.twitter.com/orlandojobs debuts March 10. If you follow @orlandocareers, you will be automatically moved to @orlandojobs)

We are excited to announce that OrlandoJobs.com has secured the Twitter handle @orlandojobs. While this may not be huge news, the story of how this happened could benefit you if you want your name or your business name as a Twitter handle and someone else owns it.

Why? For OrlandoJobs.com, it helps our brand stay uniform. While we have been building a following with @orlandocareers, with the future of twitter and the recognition of our online branding is extremely important to us so we can deliver relevant job news for Orlando and Central Florida to job seekers.

For job seekers, a well done twitter account during a job search will show very nice up very nice in Google search results. With over 60% of employers goggling potential hires, a Twitter account with your name 9 (twitter.com/yourname) will come up at the search results. (The bio on your Twitter profile will give you the opportunity to put your city, occupation and notes about yourself). Your tweets can be relevant to your career. What is amazing, this can be done very easy.

If you have not done so, go ahead and get your twitter handle today with your name. If it is unavailable, try a different variation (your_name). If the handle you want is owned by someone else and they ARE NOT using it, contact them directly and they may just give it to you. If that doesn’t work, contact Twitter. While Twitter may not release a stagnant handle currently, that is changing so you want to be first in line. More Info on Twitter Handles
